  • Second UK HBV Meeting

    Last years meeting was such a success we decided to do it again, same place, same month, different days.

    This years overseas speaker will be Fabien Zoulim from Lyon, France.

    Through generous sponsorship by Gilead Sciences and Roche Diagnostics, registration fees for PhD students and below is just £50, with registration for everyone else only £120.

    We’ll be in Chicago for the 2024 HBV Meeting, where we'll be giving 2 talks:

    1) Spatial transcriptomic mapping the HBV infected liver. A Cross, N Wand, J Harris, A Hall, E Drydale, Z Yuan, J Bancroft, P Balfe, A Quaglia, F Issa and JA McKeating

    2) A role for 5′-3′ exoribonuclease 1 to regulate dsRNA responsive innate immune effectors and to suppress HDV replication. S Tsukuda, M Boutasbih, P Balfe and JA McKeating

    April 2023

    Xiaodong (Alan) Zhuang has been awarded an MRC fellowship!

    This collaborative award with Mala Maini’s group at UCL (link here) means that Alan has now become a mainiac (@maini_lab).

    We are thrilled to have been awarded a Wellcome Trust Discovery award: Discovering the mechanisms underlying HBV persistence in chronic liver disease.
